Institute Policies
General
• The Institute for Italian Studies (“ Institute ”) requires a minimum of 4 students and a maximum of 12 students per class.
• Students who are referred by a school will be required to provide the name, and contact information of the person, within the educational facility, who referred the student to the Institute .
• Registration forms will be available up to a week prior to the beginning of the classes.
• Registration Form and payment must be received before classes begin• Students attending less than 10 classes, will pay a fee of $35.00 per each class. Arrangements must be made prior to the beginning of the course, and all payments must accompany the registration.
Refunds
• If you are enrolled in a group course, no refunds will be possible after the first class.
• Tuition for full day and half day workshops is not refundable, unless the class is cancelled by the instructor, or due to insufficient number of students.
• Students participating in a group course who individually miss one, or more classes, will not be issued any refunds. Students joining a class after the beginning of the course are elegible for a discount up to the cost of two classes.
Cancellation:
• The Institute reserves the right to cancel classes or workshops due to insufficient number of students. If your payment has already been received at the time of cancellation, and you chose not to enroll into an alternative program, the Institute will reimburse you the full tuition amount.
• If you wish to cancel a Private or Semi-Private tutoring class, you will be required to notify your instructor within 24 hours prior to the beginning of the class. If a student does not notify the instructor of a cancellation, and does not attend the class, he will be charged the tuition fee for that class.
• In the event of an upcoming storm, or other critical emergencies, class cancellation could be decided by the Institute , and the students notified via phone or email. On special occasions or National Holidays, the class may collectively decide to re-schedule the session to a future day
Books
• Prior to coming to your fist class we invite you to purchase the textbook Ciao!, 5 th edition (code # 0838451756 ). Students will be responsible for purchasing the book. The book can be purchased in various local bookstores, or through the Internet. Other material utilized in class, such as copies, videos etc. will be provided by the Institute .
